Construction work starting for the Reconstruction of Bridge No. 00621, Route 154 over Chester Creek, in the Town of Chester.
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that work has begun on the bridge carrying Route 154 over Chester Creek in Chester. The public should expect periodic lane closures for the next couple of weeks in preparation for a full closure of the bridge on December 8, 2008.

Bridge Maintenance - Route I-91 (northbound) between Exits 27 and 29 in Hartford
  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on I-91 (northbound) between Exits 27 and 29 in Hartford. This project is scheduled to take place on or about Monday, November 24, 2008.

DOCUMENT AVAILABILITY AND PUBLIC HEARING OF THE DRAFT EIE
  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie today announced the availability of the Draft Connecticut Environmental Impact Evaluation (EIE) for the Madison Shore Line East (SLE) Railroad Station, Madison, CT (State Project No. 310-0048). This EIE was prepared pursuant to the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, Sections 22a-1a-1 to 12, inclusive.

Work has begun for the construction of the Route 34 ‘Flyover’ Bridge in New Haven.
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation announces the beginning of work for DOT Project 0092-0619 that includes the construction of a new ramp from I-95 Northbound to Route 34 Westbound between Exit 45 and the interchange of I-95/I-91/Route 34 in New Haven.

Upcoming Weekend Closure for work on Route 136 Bridge over the Norwalk River (Washington Avenue Drawbridge) in the City of Norwalk.
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that the Route 136 Bridge over the Norwalk River (Washington Avenue Drawbridge) will be closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic from 2 a.m. Saturday November 22, 2008 until 5:30 a.m. Monday November 24, 2008.

DANBURY BRANCH IMPROVEMENTS START NOVEMBER 13
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) today announced that MTA Metro-North Railroad (MNR) will begin replacing ties on the Danbury Branch on Thursday, November 13, to maintain a safe, smooth ride.

Route 15 (north & south) West Rock Tunnel Inspection New Haven and Woodbridge
  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that inspection work on the West Rock Tunnel will be performed on Route 15 (north & south) between Exits 58 and 60 in New Haven/Woodbridge. This project is scheduled to take place on or about Sunday, November 2, 2008 and continue through Thursday, December 11, 2008.

  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that Tree Work will be performed on Route 15 (southbound) between Exits 42 (Route 57) and 40 (Main Ave.) in Westport/Norwalk. This project is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, November 3, 2008 and continue through Tuesday, November 25, 2008.

Safety Improvements on I-91 from Wallingford-Meriden town line to Route 372 underpass in Cromwell
  State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that the Department is developing plans for a highway safety improvement project in Meriden, Middletown and Cromwell on I-91 (north & south) from the Wallingford-Meriden town line to the Route 372 underpass in Cromwell. Pending funding availability, this project is currently scheduled to begin in the early spring 2010 and continue through fall 2010.
